The Holy Spirit our helper
Judges 6:6-16 “Midian so impoverished the Israelites that they cried out to the Lord for help. When the Israelites cried out to the Lord because of Midian, He sent them a prophet, who said, This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. I rescued you from the hand of the Egyptians. And I delivered you from the hand of all your oppressors; I drove them out before you and gave you their land. I said to you, ‘I am the Lord your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live. But you have not listened to me. The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, the Lord is with you, mighty warrior. Pardon me, my lord, Gideon replied, but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt? But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian. The Lord turned to him and said, Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you? Pardon me, my lord, Gideon replied, but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family. The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive”.
You don’t need the majority to face your battles. You just need YOU for every challenge you face. The children of Israel were impoverished because they disobeyed God. They were in captivity, they cried to God. How do we cry to God? When we seek His face and pray. God sent them the prophet and he found a young man called Gideon, who was hiding in a winepress because he was scared. The prophet appeared to Gideon. Gideon didn’t see himself as a mighty person but God saw him like that. So what surrounds us is not bigger than our God. We may face challenges. You may start to speak like Gideon. “Where is God who delivers so and so.” The prophet said to Gideon. “Go with the power that you have.” What you and I possess is enough to deal with the challenges. We must see ourselves as God sees us not what your challenges make you see. You may think you are the smallest or the weakest but you are the perfect candidate for the Lord.
We observed the Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng (born again Christian) gave President Cyril Ramaphosa the Bible at the Inauguration. The solution for this Country is nothing but the Word of God. If the Chief Justice can give the President the Bible, then you can use the Bible to solve the solutions that you face.
Acts 2:17 “In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams”.
God gives us the Holy Spirit. We live in critical times and we need to avail our bodies to be used by God. God wants to use all of us.
Leonard Ravenhill said: “The opportunity of a lifetime needs to be seized during the lifetime of the opportunity.”
The Holy Spirit is our intercessor, when we pray in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit prays through us and function through us. We need to love prayer or the Holy Spirit won’t operate through us. When we pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit uses us to touch the throne of God. We are fighting the wicked forces. If we really want change, we need to be people of prayer. Are you available to be used by God.
Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans”. If we want to change lives, we must be a House of Prayer.
Psalm 103:2-3 “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”. Whatever challenge you face, must be diminished in the name of Jesus. “God if it is your will, heal me…” This won’t heal you as He has already given me the promise. God wants to heal you, so when you pray believe that you have received it. Sometimes we fail because of our human abilities but the Holy Spirit make a difference.
Isaiah 28:11-12 “For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to these people, to whom He said, this is the rest with which you may cause the weary to rest, and this is refreshing, yet they would not hear”.
1 Corinthians 14:4 “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church”. When your cell battery is low you recharge your phone. When you need to recharge your spirit you must pray in tongues. This means you charge yourself.
Jude 1:20 “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, how do you charge yourself? You speak in tongues, you edify yourself”. Charge yourself and build yourself in the most Holy Faith.
Ephesians 3:14-16 “For this reason, I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being”. What is your inner man? It is your spirit… Your heart… the real you.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 “Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”.
YOU ARE NOT ALONE YOU HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT!
