The Holy Spirit our Helper (Part 02)
Holy Spirit sent by God to complete the work.
John 16:33 (NIV), “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
You are the head and not the tail.
Romans 8:35-39 (NIV), “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “for your sake, we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
It is better to die for an idea that will live than to live for an idea would die. Whatever we face in life, we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. When the devil intensifies we will stand.
John 16: 5-16 (NIV)
5 but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. 7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. 8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 about sin, because people do not believe in me; 10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; 11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. 12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
When Jesus died, the Holy Spirit was released on earth and this brought in the new dispensation. This was prophesied by Joel.
Joel 2:28-29: “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
Hebrews 8:8-10 (NIV) “But God found fault with the people and said “the days are coming, declares the Lord when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they did not remain faithful to my covenant, and I turned away from them, declares the Lord. This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord. I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people”.
God does not want the laws to be written on tablets, He wants the laws to be written in our hearts! It is not like in the Old Testament when you went to the priests to confess your sins. You come to God himself and He forgives your sins.
Hebrews 8:10-13 (NIV) “No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest. For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear”.
Going to the Bible School will help you know the Lord better, and strengthen your relationship with the Lord. The Holy Spirit prophesied the coming of Jesus. Even when Jesus was dead in the tomb, He was raised by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 1:1-4 (NLT) “This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News. God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures. The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life, he was born into King David’s family line, and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord”.
All the miracles that Jesus did, is because of the Holy Spirit. Every part of Christ’s life was orchestrated by the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 6:19 (NIV), “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.
The Holy Spirit is our seal that we belong to God.
Ephesians 1:13 (NIV), “and you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit”.
2 Timothy 2:19-21 (NIV), “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” In a large house, there are articles not only of gold and silver but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.
If I dish up for you on a dirty plate, how would you feel? What type of vessel are we to fulfill the work of God?
Acts 2:4 (NIV), “all of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them”.
It is beneficial to speak in tongues. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer.
Luke 4:18-19 (NIV), “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lords favor”.
John 14:12 (NIV), “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father”.
