Press Forward Towards the Goal
Philippians 3:12-14, “Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”.
Purpose of pressing on is to lay hold of what God has laid ahead of us. Not that we are perfect or we have arrived. The reason is to forget what is behind, we all have a history in our lives what Paul is encouraging us to not rewind but forget what is behind and press forward.
Philippians 4:12, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want”.
There are things that make people stay in one place that should not stop you from pressing forward. Everything begins to work for us people, the pressure we get it from our brethren. When we think we have arrived by painting the wrong picture. Times in our life when everything seems to be against you, you need to press on and believe what the word of God says about you. “You are feeling the pain because you don’t believe”. When you study the word of God and understand that healing is a process. The pain might be there but you are healed. Don’t be under pressure press on towards the goal. You are traveling on your path, they are on their path, don’t worry, they might not be going in the same direction. No matter what happens know that God loves you. God has blessed us so much, you are not useless or nameless before God.
Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
God knows the plans for us, plans to prosper us not harm us in his way. The way he’s going to prosper me, might not be the same was as he prospers my friends/other people.
Ecclesiastes 9:4, “Anyone who is among the living has hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion”!
Press forward towards your goal
Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose”.
There are times you have to work through pain and frustration, we love to present the crowns, not the crosses we had to carry if you going through pain something good is about to happen. As you go through pain don’t think destruction. Don’t allow anything to disturb you.
James 1:2-4, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything”.
Your past is your past it must not define your future, don’t trap yourself learn to accept things you cannot change, let God have his way. The bible says: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man” because success comes from the Lord. Study the Word and Believe by doing exceedingly and abundantly as you “Press Forward towards the Goal”.
